THIS AUTOBIOGRAPHY by author and webmaster, Carmen Welker is a straight-forward, no-nonsense expose about the ramifications of childhood sexual abuse. Her story, which unfolds chronologically from early childhood on, is one of rejection, abuse and indescribable horrors at the hands of her mother and adoptive father.

Born in post-war Germany near the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp, Carmen was given away at birth and lived with a poor but loving foster family until the age of nine, when she was literally ripped from her foster home by her natural mother who had to get Carmen back in order to be able to leave Germany with her new, American husband.

Unbeknownst to Carmen, whose young life had been violently shaken, the real horrors were yet to come, because her new "father" – a respected Army First Sergeant – happened to be a raving pedophile.

Seeking to escape her abusive past, Carmen joined the U.S. Army at age 18 where she ultimately made it to the top in the field of journalism. Her personal life, however (thanks to Satan, who ensures that our "baggage" follows us around) never got off the ground. She was 44 years old before she found God, who completely delivered her from the horrors of her past and provided

healing from the inside out. "Rags to Rabbi" pulls no punches as it reveals, in graphic detail, the horrors of sexual abuse. This book should be read by anyone who has ever been mentally or sexually abused because it proves that there IS healing - and that this healing comes NOT from secular psychiatrists, but ONLY from God, who is able to heal from the inside out.

Today, Carmen - who was editor/ proofreader of Andrew Gabriel Roth's Aramaic English New Testament - is a Netzarim Rabbi who spends her time leading others to the Truth of Messiah Yeshua and the need for Torah. Her other books include, Should Christians be Torah Observant?, Should Christians be Torah Observant? - The Workbook!; And there was War in Heaven! and Free to Sin.

The true story of one woman's struggles and a modern-day fairy tale of success against all odds!

This book should be required reading for every pedophile or sexual predator, as it is an "in your face" description of how their actions can ruin the lives of innocent victims!
.................Book Review.................

Carmen Welker's book "Rags to Rabbi" is one of the most amazing things I've ever read - and I've read thousands of books in my 53 years.

Talk about a rough ride! Abandoned by her biological parents to a youth of abject poverty and alcoholism (and of love, despite the hardships), she was suddenly "rescued" by her biological mother at 8 and taken to America... where the real nightmare began.

Having experienced the acrimonious divorce of my parents when I was 4, I know from experience that it can take decades to come to grips with the psychological and emotional confusion, blame, anger and "cultural disconnect" such events cause.

But to add to such an already dubious augury a psychologically damaged and abusive "new" mother and a sexually abusive step-father, a new country, a new language... I shudder to even try to imagine what such a confused and poisonous brew could do to a child's mind and soul. You don't have to imagine it, however - the horrid tale is breathtakingly recounted in "Rags to Rabbi" - as is its apotheosis - the transformation of a tormented chrysalis into a stunning and beautiful new person via the experience of self-realization tinctured with the healing of religious faith.

It is a miracle that Ms. Welker isn't "mad as a hatter." But mad she most certainly is not. The clarity and psychological self-insight evident in this work will astound the reader. Equally revealing is the astringent candidness she utilizes in revealing the sordid details of her torment and transformation. It took a lot of courage to publish this book - it's doubtful most people would dare to be so honest. Ms. Welker is probably hoping the amazing story of her redemption shows others from similar maelstroms that all is not lost - unless you surrender. Though lost for a long, long time, Ms. Welker, as Joseph in Pharoah's jail, never gave up, and always picked herself back up, no matter how many times she fell. Her victory over unimaginable odds is a heartwarming story and represents one of the greatest triumphs of the human spirit over unimaginable adversity that I've ever encountered.

I couldn't put it down. Her characterizations are so adroit that I almost felt I knew her immediate family - not that I would want to! If you like a happy ending you'll love this one! Though planted in the most horrid of soils, this "soul-flower" unfolds, at last - a "lotus of happiness."
